Mel Harte

Mel (Mary Ellen) Harte Ph.D., a summer biologist at the nearby Rocky Mountain Biological Lab since 1981, provided the photos for the RMBL digital herbarium (1,000+ local species, publicly available at http://rmbl.org/herbarium/index1.html ), produced the “What’s That Wildflower” photographic guide CD to local wildflowers, and produces the weekly KBUT radio show “Nature Notes”. Her diagnostic wildflower photos appear at www.forestryimages.org (thousands), and in the National Wildlife Federation’s Guide to the Wildflowers. An exuberant naturalist, explorer and educator, she has hiked all continents, photographing wildflowers. Her latest adventures were Turkey, Bhutan and Andalucia, Spain (2011), Japan (2012), and Chile (2013).
