Dusty is a full-time photographer based in Crested Butte since 1987. Degrees in photojournalism and business have enhanced his ability to not only capture beautiful images but also to show others how to as well. Dusty owned Color West Photography, a local photo lab and studio until 2004 when he closed the retail business to pursue photography full time. Since that time, Dusty has won several international awards for his images including two first place awards at the Banff Mountain Photography Competition. His landscape and nature photography can be seen locally at Rijks Family Gallery and the Alpenglow Gallery at the ski area. His photos are also featured in “Where the Road Ends”, The Crested Butte Land Trust Calendar and the Crested Butte Magazine.
