Crested Butte artist Susan Anderton has been part of the town’s creative heart for five decades. She designed the very first Crested Butte Wildflower Festival poster in 1987 and returns this year to create the artwork celebrating the Festival’s 40th anniversary. Known for her joyful use of color and her love of local landscapes, Susan’s work captures the beauty, energy, and spirit of Crested Butte in bloom. Over the years, Susan’s art has been featured in numerous regional exhibitions and collections, celebrating the landscapes and wildflowers that continue to inspire her creative journey.
A member of the Paragon Gallery, Susan has exhibited her paintings and prints alongside other local artists and helped nurture the valley’s vibrant arts scene. She has contributed her time and talents to community arts efforts, including leadership roles with the Crested Butte Arts Festival. Through her art and community involvement, Susan continues to inspire both residents and visitors to see the wild beauty of Crested Butte.
