Meet the Photographer
Michael Ryno is a professional photographer based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He holds both a Master of Photography Degree and the Certified Professional Photographer designation from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). His work has garnered awards and recognition from several organizations, and in 2024, he was honored with the prestigious Gold Medallion Award at the American Society of Photographers ceremony in Grapevine, Texas.

Michael has developed his photography skills across a wide range of disciplines, including landscape, nature, wildlife, cityscapes, and portraiture. Since 2016, he has actively participated in several photography organizations and has served in leadership roles, including President of the Lone Tree Photo Club (2020–2021) and President of the Professional Photographers of Colorado (2022–2024). He continues to serve on the Board of Directors for both organizations.

In 2022, Michael retired from a 39-year career in corporate banking to pursue his passion for photography full-time and to devote more time to volunteering with nonprofit organizations such as Douglas Land Conservancy and Wellspring Community.

As a landscape, nature, and wildlife photographer, Michael enjoys exploring wild spaces year-round throughout the Rocky Mountains, national and state parks, rivers, and forests—often during the golden hours of dawn or dusk to capture magical light. His compositions range from sweeping grand landscapes captured with wide-angle lenses to more intimate scenes photographed with telephoto or specialty macro lenses.
