Photo Contest
An Annual Tradition
In what has become a tradition, each year the CBWF holds a photography contest throughout July open to all visitors exploring wildflowers in Crested Butte that summer. Selected by our Staff & Board of Directors, winners receive prizes, and all submissions have the chance to be featured in our marketing and social media! Guidelines & recent winners are below.
2026 Contest Guidelines
- Email up to 10 photographs to info@cbwildflower.com between July 1-August 1, 2026
- Use “Photo Contest Entry – your First and Last Name” as the entry subject line
- Please include the location(s) of the photograph(s) (for our use only)
- Photos must be your own original work
- Photographs submitted must have been taken in the Gunnison / Crested Butte Valley during 2026
- Photos of flowers must be of growing flowers, not picked!
- Photos featuring people MUST show them ON TRAIL, not among the flowers (in alignment with promotion of wildflower etiquette)
- Examples of submissions we LOVE receiving: wildflowers, bees, butterflies, birds, people, CBWF Tours, gardens, etc.
- Only photos submitted between July 1- August 1, 2026 via our email (info@cbwildflower.com) will be considered for the contest.
- Announcements of the winners will be made by September 1st, 2026 (unless otherwise communicated) after the Board of Directors and Staff have voted.

Please Note: When you submit a photo to the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival Photography Contest, you agree to allow the Festival to utilize your photo in our online and print media, including social media, email marketing, and print advertising.
