In what has become a tradition, each year the CBWF holds a photography contest throughout July open to all visitors exploring wildflowers in Crested Butte that summer. Selected by our Staff & Board of Directors, winners receive prizes, and all submissions have the chance to be featured in our marketing and social media! Guidelines & recent winners are below.

Congratulations to our 2024 Photo Contest winners! With over 400 entries this year, this certainly was not an easy decision. Thank you to each and every participant for helping us promote the importance of wildflower & wildlife preservation through the beauty of your work. We cannot wait to display the winning photos on our website and share hundreds more on our social media throughout the year.

2024 Selfie Contest:

Guidelines:

  • Please limit your entries to 3 selfies
  • Photographs submitted must have been taken in the Gunnison/ Crested Butte Valley during 2024
  • Selfies should include a CBWF event, wildflowers, bees, butterflies, birds, gardens etc.
  • Use hashtag (#CBWFselfies2024) to enter into our selfie contest
  • Only photos posted between July 12- August 1, 2024 with our hashtag on Facebook and Instagram will be considered for the contest.
  • Announcements of the winners will be made by September 1st, 2024 (unless otherwise communicated) after YOU, the CBWF community & friends vote by liking!
  • The top selfie with the most likes will be considered the winner of the selfie contest (one winner from Instagram and one winner from Facebook will be selected).

Guidelines:

  • Please limit entries to your 10 favorite photographs
  • Please include the location of the photograph (for our use only)
  • Photographs submitted must have been taken in the Gunnison/ Crested Butte Valley during 2024
  • Email entries to info@cbwildflower.com
  • Use “Photo Contest Entry – your First and Last Name” as the entry subject line
  • Photos must be your own original work
  • Photos should include growing flowers – not picked!
  • Examples of submissions we LOVE receiving: wildflowers, bees, butterflies, birds, people, CBWF Tours, gardens, etc.
  • Only photos submitted between July 12- August 1, 2024 via our email will be considered for the contest.
  • Announcements of the winners will be made by September 1st, 2024 (unless otherwise communicated) after the Board of Directors and Staff have voted.

Please Note: When you submit a photo to the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival Photography Contest you agree to allow the Festival to utilize your photo in our online and print media including social media, email marketing, and print advertising.
