Children’s Program Intern

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director and Children’s Program Coordinator, this 35-hour, experience-building internship will run from July 8-12 during our 5-day children’s camp. Intern is also expected to complete 3 additional training hours leading up to the start of the festival on July 5th.  Intern will be responsible for assisting both lead teachers with the day-to-day operations of the Children’s Programs both during and leading up to the festival. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

 

Education and Childcare

 

  • During daily camp:
  • Monitor play
  • Assist with lessons and games
  • Maintain group safety
  • Influence good behavior

 

Qualifications:  

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in High School
  • Childcare Experience (daycare, babysitting, volunteering at schools, interest in a career in education, etc.)
  • Willingness to jump in and work with lead teachers
  • Ability to make quick calls and judgements in stressful situations
  • First Aid and CPR Certified (or willingness to take the course in June)
  • MUST comply with finger print and a background checkrequirement

 

 

Compensation:  

  • $10/hour
  • $30 training stipend
  • Invaluable education experience behind TWO lead teachers
